Project Manager (m/f/d) – Passenger Ship Refurbishment

Location: Finland (other office locations possible: Germany, Norway, Greece, or China)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead refurbishment projects for passenger vessels. The ideal candidate has a strong background in ship outfitting, particularly in the refurbishment sector, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of turnkey projects from planning to completion, including dry dock participation across global locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage refurbishment projects for passenger ships from start to finish
  • Oversee technical planning, procurement, scheduling, and on-site execution
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Participate in dry dock periods worldwide and ensure smooth on-site operations
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, shipyards, and stakeholders
  • Report on project status, risks, and milestones to management and clients

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ship outfitting, preferably in refurbishment projects
  • Solid technical background in marine interior outfitting and materials
  • Strong knowledge of outfitting materials, suppliers, and subcontractor networks
  • Proven project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding/refurbishment standards and safety procedures

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related technical field
  • Experience working with international teams and multicultural environments
  • Familiarity with interior design drawings, specifications, and ship classification society requirements
