GSI shipyard engages R&M to build public areas of ferry
There is now an active Chinese market for passenger vessels, and R&M has recently managed to land an order. It involves the construction of the public facilities on board a new Gotland Ferries vessel currently being built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI) in its namesake hometown of Guangzhou. The written contract was issued in June, since the end of June our team is on the construction site.
The area concerned occupies nearly 13,000 ft.² (1,200 m²), and completion is scheduled for the months of June to December 2017. The shipyard is responsible for the timely delivery of fitting-out materials.
The tropical climate of Guangzhou supposes an additional challenge. This project will once again be managed by our experienced team consisting of a European project manager and both European and Chinese supervisors.
