R&M announces the biggest order in the company's 125 year history

The R&M Group has successfully secured a mega-deal with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), Nagasaki Shipyard in late September 2012.

The scope of supply includes engineering of pre-fabricated passenger and crew cabins, production of certain components for such cabins as well as provision of execution support and consultation to MHI for pre-fabrication of passenger and crew cabins at MHI's Nagasaki shipyard for the two mega cruise ships presently under  construction for AIDA cruises, the German  cruise brand of Carnival Corporation & plc. The ships are due for delivery in spring 2015 and 2016.

R&M will deliver the engineering and execution support services, while all structural components (i.e. doors, panels and wet units) for the pre-fabricated cabins will be produced by R&M Alvedoor. R&M will further provide MHI with consultation services to enable MHI to establish their own pre-fabricated cabin production at their Nagasaki shipyard.

Key reasons for winning the contract were R&M’s long standing and well proven capabilities in engineering and production of maritime interior products for pre-fabricated cabins of highest quality standards, as well as, their new Asian production setup of the newly acquired Alvedoor (Kunshan) Co. Ltd. with its high quality production facilities located in the greater Shanghai in China.

The honour of becoming a partner of this leading Asian shipyard in the prestigious AIDA project is another milestone in the successful establishment of R&M's future Asian business.
