R&M Finland receives contract for conversion of a cruise ship

R&M Ship Technologies Finland Oy, a subsidiary of R&M Group, based in Turku (Finland), has received its first order from STX Finland Rauma Shipyard in June this year. It is about the conversion of the cruise ship MS Oslofjord. The scope of R&M in this project includes the reconstruction of the catering areas including kitchens as well as the air conditioning systems.

The MS Oslofjord was built in Norway in 1993 and is 134 meters long and 24 meters wide. After the conversion, it will be used between Sandefjord (Norway) and Strömstad (Sweden) and renamed in MS Bergensfjord.

"This order shows that R&M Finland can best serve the needs of the market with the expertise in kitchens and air conditioning systems," said Andrus Junolainen, Managing Director of R&M Ship Technologies Finland Oy. "Our strategy to invest in this area has proven right. The order and the high level of expertise and years of experience in the design and implementation of kitchen areas of our new employee Ari Toivola, provide a good basis to expand globally in this area."
